Horrible Bosses

Movie #43 for 2011
I refuse to go and see Bad Teacher. You couldn’t get to me to Transformers 3 even if I was allowed to shout at the screen. Hangover Part II? Not in a million years. But Horrible Bosses? Yeah, okay. It seems that everyone has a limit.
Nick (JASON BATEMAN), Dale (CHARLIE DAY) and Kurt (JASON SUDEIKIS, pictured with Day and Batemen) hate their caricaturishingly awful bosses (KEVIN SPACEY, JENNIFER ANISTON and COLIN FARRELL). They can’t quit because of (among others reasons) the economic downturn, so they hatch a plan with an ex-con (JAMIE FOXX) to kill them instead. Hijinks, violence and ‘raunchiness’ ensue.
There are so many things about this film that offended me. The crew of writers (mostly TV producers and actors with their minds in their pants) dress racism and sexism up in a flashy suit of irony, but it is no less offensive for that.
Despite that, and despite myself, I also found plenty to laugh at. This came mostly from Bateman, Day and Sudeikis and their charming dynamic (directed as they were with energy by SETH GORDON, who made one of my favorite documentaries ever, King of Kong).
So, no, I won’t see Bad Teacher or Transformers 118, but I will see Bateman, Sudeikis and Day in just about anything. Even Horrible Bosses.
